Based at Sifton Properties’ head office in the West 5 community, the Sifton Décor Studio caters to its new homebuyers, with 2,600 square feet of space devoted to displaying all aspects and all levels of choices available. This design centre ensures that your Sifton dream home is truly dreamy.
The bigger, brighter, high-tech space was opened in September 2019. Gabi Brown, décor consultant, and her associate Georgia Murray, guide homebuyers through the process by holding several meetings that can be in-person or virtual. From products which will determine the look of the home’s façade and outdoor elements, to electrical and lighting choices, flooring and cabinetry options, paint and trim decisions, bathroom and kitchen elements – all possibilities are physically displayed in a variety of vignettes which are organized by living space.
However, having myriad choices can prove a boon or a headache depending on your comfort level, so Sifton provides the able assistance of these two professionals who pride themselves on sharing their expertise keeping the clients tastes, needs and budgets in mind. “We work with clients from the outside in,” explains Brown, adding, “guiding clients through choices to help pull together their vision, keeping in mind their budget.”

Buyers who favour a sustainable approach will find choices for them, while those who want a more traditional look will not be disappointed. One high-tech option on display at the design centre is the Opti-Myst – a vapour fireplace – from Dimplex. “It’s fully open but very safe so you don’t have to worry about the kids,” says Brown of this contemporary design element.
With safety in mind, appointments are required to visit the studio and the number of patrons allowed at one time is limited. Being able to see and touch your design choices, however, appeals to most new homebuyers. Follow up appointments are often done virtually if clients schedules are busy with work and family.
