DREAM KITCHENS ARE CREATED IN THE WOOD STUDIO

Designing a kitchen that suits both the character of a home and meets the wish list requirements of its owners is what Elias Polizoes does best. The owners of this dream kitchen wanted a culinary space that hinted of a mid-century modern vibe. The minimalism of the MCM aesthetic creates an open space for food prep and entertaining. Polizoes worked with Luke Oslizlo of Details Renovation and Design to implement this project. He credits the synergy between the two entities with the renovation’s success. The two companies have been working on projects for four years. Oslizlo and Polizoes have the shared values of attention to detail and a passion for work well done. “There’s a trust that is important to these relationships,” says Polizoes.

Elias Polizoes founded The Wood Studio in 2012 as a one-man show but now takes care of design and has trusted craftspeople in the production area. Along with kitchen cabinetry and islands, they create bathroom cabinetry and vanities, custom furniture pieces, built-ins, wine cellars and millwork.

Those who dream of a chef’s kitchen – something custom-made just for them – often feel that it may be out of their reach.

Enter The Wood Studio. Designing and crafting islands and cabinetry – usable workspaces that look like pieces of high-end furniture – keeps costs reasonable while giving a unique look.

In this kitchen, Polizoes chose Shinnoki, wood veneered panels from Belgium, for the cabinetry. “It gives a nice consistent look for the perimeter.”

Calling the island “the most social part of the kitchen,” Polizoes used solid walnut in the creation of this beauty that measures eight feet by four feet. A piece of functional furniture, electricity for its appliances was run up one of the legs to keep it as streamlined as the rest of the room.

A large storage pantry (nearly 12 feet long), keeps clutter at bay and is cleverly disguised as more cabinetry. This generous walk-in area stores all the appliances necessary for a chef to function.
